The Pacas family has been growing coffee in the mountains of El Salvador for more than five generations, and we're proud to call them one of our longest-standing producer relationships, having purchased their coffees since 2012. Together we've navigated leaf rust, down years, the discovery of new varieties, growth, and wildly fluctuating prices, and through it all the Pacas family has remained our first stop on every trip to El Salvador. Named for the warm, golden hue that honey processing lends to parchment, Amber Blend brings together Bourbon and Pacas coffees from several of the family's farms, pulped and dried with their sticky mucilage still intact rather than being washed clean. Blending lots from multiple farms allows the Pacas family to optimize efficiency during processing while still delivering a consistent, dependable cup. The result is a coffee with a rounded, syrupy sweetness, layering milk chocolate and almond over a distinctly creamy body.
